Old Floresta was developed in the 1920s by the architect Addison Mizner with Spanish Mediterranean designs. The neighborhood was originally named “Floresta '' but due to its “Old World” charm, the name was changed. It was recognized as a historic place in 1990 and the first for Boca Raton.
